BLEED PRINTING GUIDE - Getting It Right First Time
DOCUMENT SIZE, COLOUR AND RESOLUTION
Pages Sizes
When designing for print you must ensure that you create your artwork in the correct document format.
If you look at the diagram to the right you will see the standard document sizes, which INCLUDES the 3mm bleed on each page.
As with the Bleed Printing Guide, if you create your artwork to the correct size, you will reduce any potential delays when your order is being processed.
Colour Settings
Your document is printed using a four colour process called CMYK - Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Keyline Black.
It is important that you design your artwork using CMYK and NOT RGB. When youre setting up your document, always select CMYK. If you have been working in RGB for web design dont forget to change this setting.
Resolution
If you are creating your artwork in software like Adobe Photoshop, we recommend that you use 300 dpi.
To ensure a crsip point on items such as text we strongly recommend creating all artwork in software like Adobe Illustartor or In-Design. These application output text as postscript data which means the text information will print crystal clear.
